Cashew nut is commonly known by another name, "Peach nut", scientific name is Anacardium occidentale. Cashews belong to the nut family and are in the same family as mangoes and pistachios. Cashew tree has a normal height from 7m to 12m.
Cashew fruit is a dry fruit, not self-opening, kidney-shaped from 2 cm to 3 cm long, with a hard outer shell and a concave face. Cashew fruit stalks are rich in Vitamin C, can be eaten fresh or pressed for fermentation to make light wine, fermented beverage.
